Supporting the Hospital

Behind every great institution are the generous benefactors who support its mission. Each day, we at Donalsonville Hospital work to improve health and wellness for Seminole County.
Our work would not be possible without the generous friends who share our commitment. We invite you to learn about the many ways in which you can donate to Donalsonville Hospital.
Donors can specify that their gifts be directed to a particular medical specialty, such as women's center, surgical care, cancer care, and others. However, unrestricted gifts support our most important initiatives and needs in patient care, medical training, and technology by allowing Donalsonville Hospital to determine how best to use the funds.
As a nonprofit hospital, we depend upon the generosity of our donors to fund our most urgent initiatives and ensure that high-quality patient care is available close to home for many years to come.
Ways to Give
Georgia Heart Hospital Program
The Georgia HEART Hospital Program is helping rural and critical access hospitals like ours, take advantage of an opportunity to increase their funding and their ability to provide for the health care needs of thousands of Georgians!
For many years, due to demographic, economic, and health care industry challenges, Georgia's rural hospitals have been facing a financial crisis. This crisis jeopardizes the access of rural Georgians to adequate health care.
From 2018 through 2021, Georgia taxpayers can access $60 million of RHO tax credits each year, with each qualified RHO having access to $4 million of tax credits (until the total annual $60 million cap is met). During the first six months of each year, a qualified RHO may only accept $2 million of corporate contributions and $2 million of individual contributions.
From January 1 through June 30 of each taxable year, the following limits apply with respect to Georgia HEART RHO contributions:
In the case of a single individual or a head of household, a 100% Georgia income tax credit for contributions to RHOs, up to a limit of $5,000; In the case of a married couple filing a joint return, a 100% Georgia income tax credit for contributions to RHOs, up to a limit of $10,000; and
An individual who is a member of a limited liability company, shareholder of an "S" Corporation, or partner in a partnership (pass-through entities) is allowed a 100% Georgia income tax credit for up to $10,000 of the amount they contribute to an RHO, so long as they would have paid Georgia income tax in that amount on their share of taxable income from the pass-through entity
A "C" Corporation or trust shall be allowed a 100% Georgia income tax credit for contributions to RHOs equal to the amount of the contribution, or 75 percent of the corporation's or trust's income tax liability, whichever is less.

Planned Giving Opportunities
Planned giving may take the form of bequests and annuities. It could involve naming Donalsonville Hospital in your will or perhaps making the hospital a beneficiary of your retirement plan. Whatever your gift, please know it will be greatly treasured and sincerely appreciated.
Planned gifts - so named because of the thoughtful planning that tends to accompany then - can take a number of different forms. Many of these gifts allow both you and Donalsonville Hospital to benefit at the same time.

Building a strong endowment is one of the most critical steps an organization can take to help see it through these challenging times.
Endowments provide a permanent source of funding for a myriad of health care needs and can stabilize the flow of resources in volatile times. Endowment gifts are invested by Donalsonville Hospital in support of changing health care needs from sponsored care to new technology to new facilities.
An endowment fund operates in perpetuity. Only a portion of the earnings on the original gift may be spent each year, according to the endowment spending policy.
The board and leadership team at Donalsonville Hospital is constantly keeping their eye on the changing landscape of healthcare in our community. There are numerous opportunities for donors to contribute to a cause that is near and dear to their hearts. From upgrading hospital equipment, capital projects and naming opportunities we can work together to better our hospital together.
