Donalsonville Hospital Behavioral Health Unit is a 24-bed unit staffed with specially-trained nurses and psychiatrists to ensure the safety and well- being of each patient. Inpatient stays are typically 7-14 days, and the tailored, intensive therapies are designed to help patients return home and resume their lives as quickly as possible. We will work with you and your family to coordinate care following hospitalization.
Adolescent Unit - Ages 12-18 or child that fits the milieu

Dr. Chris Strunk brings experience, expertise and excellence into his role as Medical Director of the Behavioral Health Unit at Donalsonville Hospital serving adolescents and Geriatrics.
Dr. Stunk a board-certified psychiatrist in Dothan, Alabama, hails from Tennessee. He completed his medical degree at the University of Tennessee. His internship was completed at the University of Colorado Denver and his residency in psychiatry was completed at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. Strunk's philosophy is that patients deserve a respectful, caring and competent relationship with all members of his or her treatment team. Each patient is treated individually to insure all their psychiatric needs are met. An individualized treatment plan is developed for each patient.
