Donalsonville Hospital Behavioral Health Unit treats a full scope of mental health issues and offers adolescents and senior adults crisis stabilization, healing, and recovery. We can help you, too.
Our 24-bed unit includes a behavioral health team of compassionate, highly skilled professionals who are committed to caring and providing individualized treatment plans designed to help patients recover and get their lives back. Life can be hard and when it is, we can help.

You Are Not Alone
One in four families has a family member who will experience a mental health illness. Nineteen million people will suffer from depression at some point in their lives. Of those, 80-90 percent can be effectively treated.
Admission
Donalsonville Hospital Behavioral Health Unit accepts patients 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Referrals may be made by physicians, counselors, psychologists, social workers, mental health agencies, family members or friends. The decision to admit is made by a psychiatrist.
Our specially trained nurses and psychiatrists provide the most advanced mental health treatment in a safe, secure environment where patients can recover, return home and resume their lives as quickly as possible. The average length of stay is 7-14 days. We work with individuals and family members to coordinate care following hospitalization.
Criteria
Adolescents Unit - Ages 12-18 or child that fits the milieu. Geriatric Unit - Ages 65 + up or individuals who fit the milieu. Voluntary and Involuntary Admissions.
We provide quality inpatient treatment in a safe, caring environment for adolescents and senior adults struggling with a range of mental health conditions, including:
Depression Suicidal Behavior or Threats Sleep or Eating Disorders Severe Agitation Medication Compliance Severe Mood Swings Excessive, Uncontrolled Anger Auditory/Visual Hallucinations

Admission decisions are made by our psychiatrist.
Our staff will provide further admission instructions based on our psychiatrist's determination.
